Our facility houses a Zetasizer Nano ZS instrument (Malvern Instruments Ltd, UK) which is used for characterization of particle size and zeta potential of suspensions, emulsions and nanoparticles among a number of other functions. The principle of particle size measurement is based on dynamic light scattering and zeta potential by phase analysis light scattering. The particle size and zeta potential measurement is required during development of stable nanoparticles, emulsions, colloids in biology, engineering chemical, material and pharmaceutical sciences. The effect of compositions on particle size and zeta potential can be determined using this instrument. These measurements are integral part of development of nanoparticles, nanosuspensions, nano/micro emulsions for a variety of applications.
